Accounting Clerk

Job Title: Accounting Clerk
Department: Finance/Accounting

Portico is seeking an Accounting Clerk to support the accounting department through a variety of financial and administrative responsibilities. As an Accounting Clerk, you’ll assist with accounts payable and receivable, data entry, account reconciliations, record maintenance, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.

  • Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely payment of vendors.
  • Prepare and process accounts receivable transactions, including invoicing and payment posting.
  • Verify, classify, and record financial transactions.
  • Enter financial data into accounting software with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and accounting documentation.
  • Respond to vendor and customer inquiries regarding account balances and payments.
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and general ledger accounts.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and supporting documentation as requested.
  • Assist with audits by gathering and organizing financial records.

Accounting (Mid–Senior)

Job Title: Accounting (Mid–Senior)
Department: Finance/Accounting

Portico is seeking a Mid to Senior Accountant to support our rapidly growing software business through both organic growth and strategic acquisitions. This role supports month end, audits, taxes, M&A activities, reconciliations, financial reporting, and other tasks as needed. The ideal candidate has experience in SaaS accounting, business combinations, integrating acquired companies into a scalable financial reporting environment, and can operate accurately and effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth setting.

  • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities for multiple entities.
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy across domestic and international subsidiaries.
  • Analyze and explain financial statement variances.
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Assist in preparation of audited financial statements.
  • Support external audits, tax filings, and lender reporting requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with US GAAP and company accounting policies.
  • Assist in documenting and improving internal controls and accounting procedures.
  • Support accounting for SaaS subscription revenue in accordance with ASC 606.

  • Experience with multi-entity accounting and monthly close processes.
  • Experience supporting acquisitions, integrations, or corporate accounting in a high-growth environment.
  • CPA preferred but not required.
  • Experience in a private equity-backed organization preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of ASC 805 (Business Combinations) and ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition).
  • Consolidation and multi-entity accounting.
  • US GAAP financial reporting.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Oracle, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Advanced Excel skills.

  • Perform daily creation of rosters, including updating the Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) system and processing funds through the G6 Grants Management System.

Implementation Consultant – SIS

Portico is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Implementation Consultant with a background in higher education and Student Information Systems (SIS) or comparable education technology platforms. In this client-facing role, you will lead successful software implementations by partnering with new and existing clients to understand their business needs, configure solutions, facilitate testing, deliver training, and ensure a seamless transition through go-live and post-launch support.

  • Lead successful customer implementations by providing project guidance, mentoring, training, knowledge transfer, and ongoing support throughout the implementation lifecycle, including post-go-live.
  • Develop and execute go-live plans, provide end-user training, and support clients during the post-implementation stabilization period.
  • Identify project risks proactively and resolve implementation challenges to ensure projects remain on schedule and meet client expectations.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients and third-party partners to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to continuously improve implementation processes, documentation, and customer experience.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of each client’s business processes and translate those requirements into effective system configurations.
  • Facilitate business requirements gathering and needs analysis, documenting functional requirements, workflows, and use cases.

  • Productionize AI proofs of concept (LLMs, NLP, predictive analytics) into secure, scalable, compliant solutions.
  • Build APIs and services that integrate AI into Portico’s core platform (CRM, SIS, student success tools).
